Biography

A leading computational social scientist and data specialist, Michael masterfully combines the worlds of data analysis and human emotion. His professional pursuits often center around pivotal questions such as: “What designates a conversation as ‘good’ or ‘healthy’?” and “Is it possible for a dialogue to be beneficial without necessarily being positive” This unique intersection of data and psychology is where Michael thrives.

Michael’s experience as a post-doctoral fellow at the prestigious Harvard Business School (NOM) under the guidance of Prof. Amit Goldenberg was instrumental in shaping his analytical proficiency. During this period, he honed his data-driven approaches to decode complex human behaviors, ensuring impactful collaborations with academic and industrial peers.

Now, at the forefront of data innovation, Michael is actively redefining sensory experiences as a Data Scientist at Moodify. Here, he employs cutting-edge technologies to digitize scent, further emphasizing his flair for merging scientific inquiry with technological advancement. This role stands testament to his larger vision of harnessing machine learning to explore the nuances of human communication in both individual and group settings.

In addition to his pivotal role at Moodify, Michael’s prowess in data science is showcased through his freelance statistical consultancy. This venture further cements his position as an industry expert, offering tailored solutions to a plethora of data and research conundrums.

An alumnus of some of the world’s top institutions, Michael earned a B.A. in psychology and Amirim from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and went on to achieve an M.A. and Ph.D. in psychology from Ben Gurion University of the Negev. His doctoral work delved into the nuances of self-perception, focusing on self-criticism and self-esteem. Beyond his academic accolades, Michael is also a licensed psychologist in Israel, underscoring his comprehensive grasp of the human psyche.
